"under sea" screen

My husband wanted a screen for a small corner in a room.
Maybe for maditation, reading book, or hiding from me?
For me it will be for "hide and eat lots of chocolate" corner.

Tie-dyed background fabric, felted people figures, and lots of wierd stuff...
Whatever you are doing in that corner, your mind will drift away behind this screen.
hohoho.

embroidery picture panel - gerbils' adventure

This is the embroidery picture panel I did for my friend.
Little gerbils adventure.
I love embroidery which shows the story.

The gerbil figures are done by both machine and hand embroidery.

I grew affection towards them as I was making.

I hope they are having a nice time on this magical night!

playful bolster cushion

You would wonder what this is....
It's a bolster cushion.
Lots of sea creature are appliqued onto indian fabric.
I just wanted to make something fun!
...But not very practical though.
My favourite one of all the figures on cushion.
Pink crab!

granda's lampshade

We had an old lampshade inherited from my husband's granda.
One day the shade broke.
As I love old things, I wanted to give a new life to it.
So I made a shade.

I coloured the fabric with silk paint.

The blade is done by free machine embroidery.

This lives in our living room and gives a warm feeling every night.

jelly fish lampshade

Dose this lampshade remind you of anything?
It's a jellyfish.

I tie-dyed the fabric.

The fringe was done handmade too.

It took looooong time.

I bought a lovely stand for it.

It's an "art and craft" stand.

It is made of beautiful wood and I can feel the craftmanship.

"into the sky" mobile

I was obsessed with these little people's figure one point.

It all started with under-sea divers.

But now they are flying in the sky!

It's very dreaming.

You too can lose yourself in this mobile world!

Oooooooo....

white wall hanging

This is a wall hanging I made a few years ago.

The main purpose of this work was to experiment manipulation techniques.

I used a smocking machine for the first time.

What a great thing!

I want one too...

"under sea" cnadle holder

This is a candle holder.

Shaped by dipping in starch and drying on a bowl.

It is made of muslin, so light comes through and looks calming.

This is another "under sea"-inspired piece.

Lots of tiny stitches involved...my eyes....

coke tin and velvet necklace

This is a necklace I made a few years ago.
It looks like a toy, but you can wear it though it's quite heavy.

You will have a sore neck at the end of the day...

The base is made out of coke tin.

The top is a velvet which was a top I bought from charity shop.

Glued painted bondaweb on and some stitch.

It was a construction work rather thran an embroidery!

"under sea" ornament

This is a handsize ornament.

My inspiration for this piece was a coral reef.

But I don't know anymore.

Is it more like a sea cucumber?

It is a handmade felt and those shiney stuff sown on it is coke tin.
And it is sitting of a knitted metal base comfortably.

kingfisher wall-hanging

This is a bag-shaped wall-hanging.

We sometimes see a kingfisher flying across the canal when we go for a walk.

It is an amazing site....

The kingfisher is done by both machine and hand-stitch.

Does it look like waiting for the moment for fishing?

Or maybe just chilling out...
